Parking in Seattle

Went to a jazz club in Seattle Sunday evening (Tula's), and had to pay $7 for parking. We're considering going in one afternoon this week for a quick peek at some touristy things, but I'd prefer to skip paying $7-$14 for parking just for an hour or so. All the spaces on the streets were taken.

Any tips on a way to park there for less? Park somewhere else and walk in (probably go to Pike's market and around the needle)?

Thanks,

Re: Parking in Seattle

There's usually metered parking available under the Alaska Way viaduct (near the waterfront, down the hill from Pike Place).

Bus service around Seattle is plentiful and cheap, and walking is good for you.

Re: Parking in Seattle

You could come up Queen Anne Hill and park on the street for free (usually pretty easy) and walk back down (less than a mile to the space needle) or ride the bus. PM me if you want more specifics.

Re: Parking in Seattle

You can park fairly cheaply at REI, which is approximately Stewart and Yale, maybe 9 blocks east of the north end of the market.

This is what I usually do.
