Re: Part-time work!!
No suggestions but here is my history, post-ER.
I had been out on my own for about 6 to 7 years
when I decided to semiretire. I took a part time
position with a CPA firm, assuming that since it was
only part time and not essential to my survival, it
would be okay working for others again. Wrong!
Once I had run my own show, I was not happy working
for others (could have been just the job I guess).
I left to work full time on a contract for a mnaufacturing company. This was quite
lucrative and low stress. Still I was bored and unhappy
until I was able to shift the job to part time
(7 to 10 days a month). That was good for me, but not so good for my employer. When they offered a full time
position (again) after 2 years, I just passed. Could have made a pile of money, but I was 55 and just wanted out. I can see now that in terms of "job satisfaction" I needed to have my "own thing".
By the time this was totally clear to me, I was beyond the
point where I was willing/able to work at any job.
