I can't find this cartoon on www.snoopy.com [original copyright 1991. reprinted 2/6/03] and I won't post a scanned version (much as I would like to). So, use your imagination:
Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty standing at the school bus stop:
PP: "Who are all those people driving by in those cars?"
CB: "Those are people going to work."
PP: "Work?"
CB: "They used to wait for the school bus like we're doing..."
CB: "Now they have to go to work every day for the rest of their lives."
PP: "Good grief! Whose idea was that?"
