Person-centered therapist emulator?

This cool little gadget was one of the first "intelligent' chat bots and has made a comeback of sorts. It's a mindless diversion (or therapy for cheapskates) and I was annoyed by round two.

ELIZA was a little shocked at my responses. I told it I had horns of some sort.

Eliza: Do go on.

Heh. As soon as I saw the subject, my first thought was "Eliza." I remember having a book of BASIC programs in the early 1980s that included the Eliza program, and I spent a couple hours entering that program into our Trash-80 (I was about 16 and dateless) and running it for about 15 minutes before being bored with it.

I assume Eliza has become a little more educated and sophisticated since then.

I told Eliza I thought she was an @ss. She told me I was a negative person. She asked me how long I have been an @ss.

I told her I was tired and wanted to die, so I just took a cyanide capsule.

She said, "Go on."

Poor Eliza--I think we all told her the same thing. She is not having a good day!

Same thing she said when I asked her "Will Rich ever retire or will he just go on working?"

She also used that "go on" phrase when you tell her where to go. Not sure if she meant for me to keep on talking or if she meant, "same to you."

"You're being kind of negative, aren't you?"

I hit ctrl-alt then delete. Then she said "DELL" in big blue letters. It was a sign.
