Personal Finance Training?

Do local community colleges offer course in Personal Finance? Mainly about investing for retirement. Nothing fancy or complicate, just basic understanding of the inner working of tax-deferred accounts. The risk, reward of equities versus bonds, mm, etc...

I always thought that every adult has an understanding of these basics, until I talk to a few of my friends and aquaintances. Everything seems to be above the head!

I'm not looking for courses, seminars offered by brokers. Only those offered by colleges (no agenda). The area I'm interested in in Orange County, California.

Thanks in advance.

I did a quick google search for Orange County colleges, then I randomly picked one and searched it's course listing.

My example: Golden West College, Course # Bus 121, Course Name: Personal Finance.

I'm sure there are lots of others.

UC Irvine has a free online course that I thought was pretty good.
