Just returned from two days in DC.
Too many politicians, lawyers and bureaurocrats.
Manipulating our lives and workplaces with unnecessary rules.
Glad to be back in the deep South.

Retiring in a couple of months.
Sincerely hope that was the last trip to DC.

Here's my list - all regarding my daughter's use of my kitchen/house.

Leaving the cupboards and drawers open
Not loading dirty dishes in the dish washer
Leaving dishes on the floor in living room
Leaving clothes in the dryer after they are dry
Leaving lights on when not even home

Oh, and I love her very much even with these little annoyances.

OK, now you've got a good reason to move. Just make sure the new location doesn't have the same problems.

Anyone else have this "change phobia"? I love the little "penny bowls" near the registers and always put my pennies into them, and take a few out when I need to.
I've found the solution to this one. I have a little leather coin purse manly coin satchel that I put in my pocket whenever I go out. My checklist by the door includes "Take coin purse manly coin satchel."

The seven-day forecast on the local news bugs me. They rarely (I'm serious) get the forecast correct for the next day, yet they have the nerve to pretend that they can tell what the weather's going to be next week. They know it's baloney, but they do it anyway.

Twice last week I canceled the next day's bike ride because the called for major rain, but it was clear all day.

The clothes that poor people wear. Have they no fashion sense whatsoever?

Improper use of the word "myself"

If you have any questions, contact John or MYSELF for answers.

"Myself" = "I don't know whether I should use "Me" or "I" so I'm saying "Myself."

I know man, between park rangers and undercover police it's near impossible to hang out in 'em these days.

Yes! I agree. They could at least call. It was especially aggravating when I was working, because I was having to use vacation time all day for the "privilege" of sitting there waiting for someone who never showed up.

Wow, you have the same plumber I used to have!! When his new assistant shown in your photo arrived, he took THREE DAYS going back and forth between my house and a parts shop to fix a dripping faucet, and the bill was over $300.

He looked good, obviously, but not good enough to make me want to call that plumber ever again.
