Photo Sharing Thread II

I went on a nice beach picnic by myself, and took these pictures with the camera I found on the highway.

First check out this woman carrying her kid down this steep path. That path is sandy, and the "steps" slanted. It's crazy to go down without holding on to something and wearing good shoes. With a kid, it's worse.

Nice photos. I can see that woman falling (due to her own stupidity) and suing the town or state because they failed to:

1. warn her it is dangerous
2. install a railing
3. install steps
4. the sign wasn't printed in every language known to mankind
5. failed to fence off access
6. any other [-]dopey[/-] reason her ambulance chaser can dream up

On the way back from dinner the other day celebrating 23 years of wedded bliss I saw this in the late afternoon light. It's a pond around the corner.

After that shot I'd be tempted to throw a rock and keep on clicking...

Road trip to Mt. St. Helens, lots of wildflowers, more than usual for this time of year because of slower melting of the snowpack. Lupine, Penstemon, and Paintbrush. The last picture is of Spirit Lake.

A year ago my daughter and I were washing off our boards after surfing. It was one of our last trips before she headed off to college.

A man came over, asked some surfing questions & chatted for a bit, and asked if he could take a picture. I said if it turned out OK that we'd like a copy and gave him my e-mail address.

My daughter thought we'd be standing together smiling at the camera from behind our surfboards. However I was still holding the hose... and I had other plans. She never saw it coming.

We never heard from the photographer, and as she settled in at college I moved on to other things. But lo & behold I got an e-mail from the photographer yesterday afternoon that they'd "lost" their camera after their Hawaii trip and just rediscovered it in their luggage while packing for a new vacation.

So here it is... a year later and the day before our daughter comes home from college to get caught up on her surfing.

I was sooo tempted to break out the 12-gauge and save the the family the expense of a Christmas turkey. Shot these (with a Nikon only) in the back yard this morning.

A moment with the grandchildren
Darn! All these early retirees look young for their age.

Is it my imagination, or the lack of stress is the elixir of youth? We need a scientific study!

The anecdotal evidence is good enough for me!

That raises an interesting thought-- maybe all the researchers who've started these studies have ER'd before they've gathered sufficient data to reach a scientific conclusion?
