I only wear a watch in areas where cell phones aren't allowed or aren't practical to carry, and even then I tend to keep it in my pocket. I can't stand jewelry of any sort against my body, including my wedding ring. (DW offered to have my nose pierced and a chain added but I turned it down.)

Couldn't do without one when I worked. Now retired, I only wear one when I have multiple appts. the same day. It's a PITA to dig out the cell.

I like to get a stealthy glimpse of my watch at times, when it would he inappropriate to check my phone.

So yes, for me. An old Timex that I've replaced more bands on than batteries. I have a dress watch somewhere, but it irritates me so I never wear it.

No, used to but with the proliferation of clocks no need to now. I've got a clock on my phone, my tablet, my laptop, my TV, my GPS....

I haven't worn a watch since the early 1980's. I don't like anything on my wrists or fingers. I use my cell phone for time now.

Always. A traditional Timex analog. I only remove it to shower.

I carry a Swiss Army pocket watch. Every wrist watch I have owned has died within 6 months of purchase. I'm one of those people who kills wrist watches and I have no idea why; they just quit. Have tried to have them fixed and they will survive another 2 or 3 months then quit again. The pocket watch has survived for 18 years now.

No. Feels weird and I no longer have to be anywhere most of the time.

As for Nodak, it is your chi overpowering your watch. At least that is what a martial arts instructor told me.

I haven't worn a watch in years. Frankly, carrying a smartphone around everywhere sort of defeats the purpose since it does everything a watch does and so much more.

I remember my last boss at Megacorp took me aside once and told me I needed to stay more engaged during her staff meetings. I said "What do you mean?" She said "You are constantly checking your phone for email messages. It's very distracting." I said "That's not it. It's that I can't see the clock from where I'm sitting. I'm just looking at my phone to see the time. I don't want to miss my next meeting."

It never occurred to her that someone would use their iPhone or Blackberry for something other than checking email.

Maybe it will come full circle and people will start wearing watches so they don't have to keep checking their phones.

That is actually part of the functionality provided - calendar notifications, sms and few other things you don't have to take out your phone to check.....

You don't have to look either, you get tapped on the wrist.

Can't vote since I'm not a citizen...:P

Actually can't vote cause I would wear a watch if one of mine worked...but they don't and I haven't bothered to get if fixed. I've been using my phone mostly since my watch broke and have gotten used to that so meh I think I will stay off the clock when I go off the clock

The tapping thing is intriguing to me.

I wonder if people will start receiving "silent messages" in morse from their watches. Almost like having a bug in your ear talking to you (or Google Glass), but less obvious.

Guess I'll need to get one and dig into WatchKit to see what can be done. hmm

A $10 Casio. Basic and functional. Why would I carry around a rectangular device just to know the time of day. Oh, it does other things like I can call someone, but would rather enjoy the day rather than gab. Only bring it along when I anticipate needing it (or just leave it in the car)

No. The last time I wore a watch was my last day of work. 11/26/2005
