That's true. I was reading The Village forum threads and they back this up.

Been married for 27 or 28, hard to remember. My DW is also too lazy to leave. When I turn 85, I am leaving DW for the "line" someone spoke of above. If I am still alive, that is.

I was married for 20 years. Widowed at age 46, just a little over 10 years ago.

Been single ever since, so I voted Single. And intend to stay unmarried on the express advice of my estate attorney.

True. However, out of necessity. Just watch a couple episodes of Judge Judy in which "lived together" couples try to untangle their finances after things went South.

Marriage, if nothing else, does provide legal protection to each party... perhaps not equal protection but at least it is "on paper."

35 years. At a recent wedding, we were among the last couples still dancing when the longest married couple dance game was played. But we knew we would lose out to our older siblings.

I can't remember exactly how that old joke goes, but we've been happily married for 35 years, the rest of them not so much <rim shot> Actually 42 years for us.

Same sort of status for me. Married over 29 years. DW passed away at 48 over 5 years ago.

Been single ever since, but I don't think I have to worry about a line forming way out here where I live.

One of my BIL's often said he had been married as long as I had. (Almost 40 years now) Technically he was right but he was adding up all 5 (or was it 6) marriages. I'll never know how he ever made the millions he made with all the divorce settlements.

Not unless that bass player you are married to is named Bill Wyman.

35 years for DW and I.
