I predict I will stay single.

I predict that Mr Boston will help me get smarter about taxes, finance, and insurance.

I predict I will get him more comfortable around mechanical and rocket science type things.

I also predict that no matter what happens in our lives, we forum members will collectively have each other to sound off to, get advice, and just plain "lean on" for support.
For this I know I am grateful in advance.

I predict...
The Dow will rise above 12,500.
I will continue loving retirement.
I will finally organize at least PART of the house while I still have some energy (i.e., not wait until I'm 85 and then not do it)...
I will start making art again.
Global warming will finally be called climate change and be acknowledged as possibly a normal fluctuation and people will stop freaking out.
The Rolling Stones will continue.
I'll go on 2 blues cruises (I know this - I paid already)...
My asthma will subside now that my stress level is down.
Did I mention loving retirement? Oh heck, just let me say it again and again...

I predict that on this date in 2011, I'll announce on this forum that I am only 1 year and 23 calendar days from 100% retirement!

Predictions are easy if you follow the rule of keeping them vague.

1. A major union will stage a strike, and picket lines will anger the public.

2. President Obama's approval rating will go up and down, but the overall trend will be down.

3. Terrorists will be apprehended while planning a major strike.

4. Terrorists will succeed in at least one effort, disrupting daily activities in a major city.

5. A significant earthquake will make many people homeless, and will spur fears of another earthquake in another place.

6. Two major corporations will merge, raising fears of monopoly in that industry.

7. Climate warming will be seen in some areas, but not in others.

8. A large city or small country will default on its debt obligations.

9. A new reality TV format will be created, and instantly become a hit.

10. Ben Bernanke will finally get the hang of speaking in obtuse, unintelligible comments, returning the U.S. economy to stability.

To paraphrase from Shipping News, "dangerous storm threatens town", and when the storm doesn't materialize, "town spared from deadly storm"...

My predictions for 2011

Calamity
Impending doom
Approaching disaster
Imminent catastrophe
Unavoidable cataclysm
Disaster, tragedy, trials and tribulations

And, for followers of US political discourse

good vs evil vs freedom vs. states rights vs. whatever

Yeah, OK MichaelB, but one more question. Will it be of "Biblical Proportions"?
