Priority Mail - Regional Rate

I helped a brother buy a laptop through ebay. After doing some setup, resued the shipping box that came with the laptop. So, when going to the post office, I'm thinking, priority mail, 7 lbs, the cost will probaby be about $15-$20. Instead, the cost was only $6.91 .

Looking at my reciept, that shows Priority Mail 3-Day, Regional Rate Box B.

I never heard of such a thing. I've always thought, Priority Mail Boxes are all flat rate. I learn something new each day.

Yep, regional rate boxes are a lot cheaper if you're shipping to places relatively nearby (like NC to PA or NJ for example). Sometimes half or a third the cost.

I think you have to special order the Regional Rate boxes (which are free) but you might be able to ask at the counter for them. I used them occasionally when I was ebaying a bunch of stuff. Nice bit of extra profit, and the ebay shipping tool helps find the cheapest shipping for you.
