Are there any cities that have a number of pro boxing matches (or even semi-pro) other than Las Vegas, NY and Atlantic City? Houston used to have some with beginner boxers just starting out, but they were alot of fun, anyway. Anybody on this board who's a boxing fan and goes to fights? Any cities other than these 3 that have a number of fights now?

Not a fan, but the local indian casinos have periodic amateur night boxing.

Boxing seems to be so popular on this board as joining the NRA is.

I used to really love boxing, was a big fan and watched it religiously every week, but stopped following it when they moved the big heavyweight matches to HBO or pay TV about 20 years ago. I would probably still watch it if they had the big money matches on during prime time on a Friday night with all the hoopla of days of yore.

I don't know why I like it - - surely it couldn't be the magnificent half naked men in fantastic shape who are giving it all they've got, their rippling muscles glistening with sweat under the bright lights... :p

Never saw much boxing in person, though.

I used to like to watch boxing. But a good fight depends so much on the match ups, and with the money at stake now, it has morphed from a sporting event more to entertainment similar to pro wrestling. We do have local pro boxing around here. Actually, MMA is much more competitive and becoming more popular. I just don't have any interest in violence anymore, though I am interested in the technical skills.
