Question about shipping within the States

I offered a stock oem stereo (head unit) to someone in the States but I asked that he pay for shipping. Since it's too expensive to ship from Canada to the States I offered to do it when I visit in a couple weeks from Niagara Falls NY to Atlanta GA. I have no idea what it costs to ship and neither does the other person. Any suggestions on the best option to ship something that size and weight?

I have found FedEx ground to be a very good choice for something like that.

Depending on how big it is when you are in the US you may be able to ship it from a US Post Office in a "if it fits it ships" box. I shipped something to my sister for the holdiays that fit in the box but was very heavy and it only cost me about US$15.

I'm sure I could but since I'm not familiar with all the carriers, or what's even available in the States I could cut my time in half by only checking the ones recommended on this forum. Seems like a better way of doing things....no?

Thanks for the recommendations I'll check USPS and FedEx.

Thanks everyone, you cut down my search quite a bit and it looks as though USPS is the best option.
