My favorite 'quirkies' are: 'Barfly' (1987), with Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway. My most favorite is: 'Two-Lane Blacktop' (1971) with James Taylor and Dennis Wilson (Beach Boys) starring in the only movie they were ever in (also had Warren Oates in it). Anybody I have ever loaned or showed these movies to hated them, but I love them, so I dunno.

I'm the only other person who liked Two-Lane Blacktop.
We borrowed Vanishing Point (which of course reminds me of it) to watch last night and were hugely disappointed that it was damaged, right in the middle. I am eagerly awaiting the replacement disk from Netflix tomorrow so we can finish watching it.
I love the car chase scenes.

Forgot to put Local Hero on my original list....it's on my shelf as well. As well as Time Bandit. I have the Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers series which I kind of think as a strange long interrupted movie. Also just looked again and noticed the two Snowy River movies which I enjoyed. Am I the only person who really liked Stardust?

The original Sleuth with Michael Caine and Sir Laurence Olivier. When I first saw it in a theater it was more than half over before I realized there are only 2 people in the movie. It took me a long time to find a dvd of the original.

Juno and Local Hero are a couple of favorites. Haven't read entire thread, so don't know if anyone has mentioned Harold and Maude yet. Pretty sure that was the first quirky movie I ever saw, and it made a lasting impression.

Sorry....I do draw a line at "classics"...Caddyshack fits there.....a classic (which I have)...but doesn't fit in the limits for this thread. Juno....is an iffy...pretty popular at the time. I have several of the "Thin Man" series....quite like them....but doesn't fit in the quirky title. Wonderfalls I quite like.....quirky "series".... Outside Providence looks like something I need to look up. A "bad" movie....that's entertaining.... Princess Bride also doesn't count....a really really popular "cult" film (which is one of my favs).
