No, I understand that there was never even any mention of race. 2 14.29%
Yes, shut those people up, they're not normals! 4 28.57%
3% is extremely conservative, 4% is still somewhat conservative but perhaps wise, 5% is more risk than I'd be willing to take on when the stakes are as serious as an early retirement that may last literally for decades. 6 42.86%

Re: Justin and Cool Dood screwing around

All i'm askin' for is a little respect (just a little bit-)...

Sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me--
A little respect (sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me)
Whoa, babe (just a little bit)
A little respect (just a little bit)

I get tired (just a little bit)
Keep on tryin' (just a little bit)
You're runnin' out of foolin' (just a little bit)
And I ain't lyin' (just a little bit)
(re, re, re, re) 'spect

When you come home (re, re, re ,re)
Or you might walk in (respect, just a little bit)
And find out I'm gone (just a little bit)
I got to have (just a little bit)
A little respect (just a little bit)

Thanks, guys...and Thank You, Aretha!

I saw the "smiley" but actually there are some really excellent art
museums in Texas. Maybe not as many as rodeos and honkytonks, but still............

Apparently you guys/gals understand each other. I'm totally lost starting from this one:

Sam, I'll take you at your word that you lost what was going on in this thread. People had sunk to making rude and insensitive jokes. Others were giving the hint that they were inappropriate. Then there was joking about locking this thread because of the poor taste jokes.

This thread once was an interesting discussion and now it is not.

Agree completely. Of course, there is still the First Amendment
to consider. But, when even I find the material offensive I think most will
agree the thread has crossed the line.

Thank you Martha and JG.

Yes, do take me at my words. I really didn't understand, and still don't.

Re: Justin and Cool Dood screwing around

Oops. Did I once again cross the "rude and insensitive" line without even noticing? I apologize if I offended anyone, I was just trying to make some low-brow jokes. Seriously, though, I wasn't trying to be offensive to anyone, and I really do apologize if it came off like that.

Sam: I was basically just wallowing in the fact that Wang and dong are (rarely-used) colloquialisms for a part of the male anatomy. I think I made a similar cheap joke about the Vietnamese currency in a previous thread, although that one had some serious discussion too, whereas this one devolved into pretty much nothing but schoolyard humor.

The First Amendment only limits what the government can do, not our dear moderators.
