I ran across this today - a 'real-time' map of current surface winds in the US: Wind Map

Very interesting map! Cool the way the winds off the Pacific blend into the winds from Texas and the GOM over the Dakotas and turn north into Canada. Also pretty easy to see why sail boarders like the Columbia Gorge!

Thanks, pretty much right on, The Chiricahua's mountains today are deflecting the winds from the SW and keeping them out of the Boothill of New Mexico.
