RIP Franco Columbu. As one who followed the bodybuilding stuff in the 1980s and 1990s, the guy was a legend in the bodybuilding world. Aside from being Arnold's best buddy, he trained Stallone for the Rambo movies.

News said he may have a heart attack while swimming in Sardenia and drowned. 78 yrs old ..

Ah, this is sad to hear. He seemed like a really down to earth guy. I read and followed his nutrition book for a long time. If I remember right, Arnold talked about him with fondness in his bodybuilding encyclopedia.

Sad news indeed. I had a book of his in the 80s. One of the smartest and most down to earth guys in the fitness world. 78 seems so young for a guy that knew how to take care of himself. Just goes to show you, no one is immune.

I recall he, Arnie, and perhaps Lou Ferrigno, came up to Toronto on a promotional tour in the late 1970s........one of their gimmicks was to explode rubber hot water bottles by inflating them simply with their lung power.
