I just found out that Ray passed in December. Always had a fondness for their tunes. My old band used to cover some of their songs.

Ray Sawyer (February 1, 1937 – December 31, 2018) was an American singer and vocalist with the 1970s rock band Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show.

Great guy and a fun band. I still find myself singing Acapulco Goldie or Roland the Roadie occasionally. Most people only know On the Cover of the Rolling Stone and Sylvia's Mother, but they had some other excellent songs. Mostly written by Shel Silverstein.

Not to be cranky, but the thing about old news is that there's likely already a thread on this. It's certainly worth checking, and pretty easy using the advanced search.

Oops. Missed that one.

Our 7 year old granddaughter has a friend named Lila........hence I'm often humming "Cooky's been to war and Lila's been to Denver".

One of their songs that maybe you haven't heard but might fit this forum.

Cheers!
