RIP Ursula K. Le Guin

One of the best science fiction writers. Well known for the Earthsea series, but my favorite was the short story "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas"

I grew up with Ms. Le Guin's books. I was 12 or 13 when A Wizard of Earthsea came out. I was busy reading the Tolkein trilogy, and Earthsea was a nice side trip. I read pretty much all of her books. The Left Hand of Darkness, The Lathe of Heaven, The Dispossesed, all great books. The second and third Earthsea books weren't as amazing as the first, but still were pretty good. I even liked Rocannon's World, which was a bit more pulp than the others. I'm glad she was writing when she was. RIP.

This also gives me pause.

I loved introducing youngsters to her Catwings books. We were always enthralled.

I re-read The Wizard of Earthsea just a few months ago. Sad to hear this.
