Have you ever wondered what goes on in s-x therapy ? How exactly do they cure these guys or is it just a resort that they go to for awhile so it looks like they are doing something positive . I imagine a treatment room where they show them pictures of beautiful women and then give them a slight shock . What do you think goes on ? Is there a twelve step program and some secret meetings ?

Life has changed in this century, but a few years back the patients were set up with sexual surrogates, who presumably were more skilled and perhaps more patient than the guy's usual partner.

I misunderstood what was meant by sex therapy.

The surrogate thing was for male sexual dysfunction. To me, sex addiction clinics is where you go when you have been caught and you want to act contrite.

In other words, bogus.

Never knew about this sex therapy till you brought it up. I knew of a couple of workers at a former megacorp who got fired for surfing porn Websites while at work. They knew that internet access would be monitored, yet couldn't control themselves. Those must be true sex addicts. Indeed, another worker later said that when traveling for business with one of the guys, that guy would insist on visiting the local strip clubs in that locale.

PS. By the way, what brought this up? Who do you have in mind?

My mother is a practicing sex therapist (marrige counciling too). Makes for interesting dinner conversations!

Anyway, the sessions are best done as couples. Trying to open communication. Mirroring and validation technigues. Clothes stay on.

Lots of individual sessions are done if the other partner won't partake. These are looking back at past incidences (childhood) to determine why the activity was deemed acceptable (whether it's human or other species/objects ... ).

Like I said, lot's of interesting dinner conversation!

I was thinking of this too. Can someone be rehabbed so quickly? I see that Tiger is back to golfing. I suppose if he still is a "work in progress" so him checking in for therapy (if genuine and not just PR) would be like someone who came close to a nervous breakdown, check in for psychriatric evaluation, then got released to resume life but is still a "working towards recovery".
