Saw - '5 easy pieces' with Jack Nicholson on New Years....

Other than the resturant scene where Jack tries to order toast, the movie was pretty boring.

Can anyone tell me what the movie was trying to say? - I thought this was supposed to be a gem of sorts like One flew over the cuckoo's nest?

It was trying to say "thanks for the twelve bucks!"

According to IMDB.com, "If you are looking for plot, this is not the picture for you."

I saw the movie several years ago and had the same "what's all the fuss about?" reaction. Maybe you had to see it 30 years ago to get it.

I saw "Five Easy Pieces"* when it came out in the early 70's.* I believe it was Nicholson's first film after "Easy Rider". All I can recall about the flick is that Sally Struthers (Gloria in All in the Family) had a nude scene that made it move.
