Is this new or just new to me?
I don't own any of the MFs listed in the M* article.

Anybody have any experience with or further knowledge of this ?

We've had clients get some checks from this. Pretty straightforward--if they came from tax-deferred accounts, just deposit them into same.
Maybe seen a dozen so far, not particularly large sums involved.
