Here's one you can do at your Christmas party. Don't forget the suit.

I mentioned Herbie today. Tell everybody we got a funky situation.

I don't know who the bass player is, but that's one funkified man.

As Mr T said, "I gotta lotta mo". I saw these guys in college. Darryl Hall had an amazing stage presence. I kind of looked like John Oates (complete with stache)

Great! I misspelled Hall's name; only one "r": Daryl. Their bassist was T-Bone Wolk. Fantastic band!

(and my hair wasn't curly/permed like Oates)

Songs that make you dance

I remember doing that Herbie tune on the bass. It's fifths, and I used my index and middle finger for those, slapped the low string with my thumb, and my ring finger to do the high. Your whole hand is going nuts.

Another from The Boys. I think there are people here who can relate:

I wish they all could be Carolina Girls!

Songs that make you dance

I remember this one from high school. We used to hang around, misbehave, and listen to stuff like this.

This is a track from Quincy Jones' (a genius arranger) CD Back On The Block.

A capella (no instruments). Among many others, you'll hear Bobby McFerrin and Ella.

It's the holidays: Wee B. Dooinit!

One of my very favorite songs for a nice gentle warm-up then heavy duty dance-ercise with barbells in my living room...

CRANK it up !

This song is perfect for my slower toning ballet style dance-ercise...lots of graceful sweeping arms and legs movements and torso stretches.

I can't put the link here and stay within forum rules...but go to youtube and search for the "Joe Cocker You Can Leave Your Hat On" official video, from the movie 9 1/2 Weeks with Kim Basinger.

WARNING: There is some nudity in that video.

When I mimic her dance moves, boy oh boy talk about a core workout.

Here's the concert version of the song, squeaky clean.

This one looks fine, perhaps a bit racy

The following song is the theme song from the animated movie "The Triplets of Belleville". Both the movie and its song were nominated for some Academy Awards in 2003.

I won’t finish my life in Timbuktu
Cheeks so tight my lips are turning blue
I'd like to be wrinkly
Utterly wrinkly
Wrinkly like a Triplet from Belleville

Don’t want to wind my days in Acapulco
Stiff as a board dancing tango-tango
I'd love to be twisted
Utterly twisted
Twisted like a Triplet from Belleville

I won’t be an old man in Singapore
Playing scrabble and eating petits-fours
I want to be wicked,
Utterly wicked,
Wicked like the Triplets from Belleville

I don’t want to end my life in Honolulu
Singing like a bird in an ormolu
I want to be as rough
Every bit as rough
Rough, rough as a Triplet from Belleville

Francophones can enjoy the original singer in this video.

But can you skate?

Happy Upcoming Valentine's Day

A love song that you won't remember, from the days of "'usta was".
