Spousal Abuse

My wife hit me.

Took vacation from work on Wed. to run her car through
the state-mandated safety inspection and the EPA-
mandated emmisions inspection (and to burn vacation
days that I can not carry-over or "sell").* Requires
visits to (2) different places to get these inspections.

No inspections, no license plate.

After dropping off the car at the inspection station. drove
over to a local restaurant for breakfast.* Restaurant was
running a pancake special;* up to (5) pancakes for 15 cents
each.

Walked into the front door and was confronted by a mob of
senior citizens waiting for tables.* Estimated wait time was
at least 45 minutes.

Turned to walk out, and while opening the door for the wife
(always the gentleman) I commented (loudly) "wait an hour
to save 2 bucks?* That's something a senile person would do."

She hit me.* Said I embarrased her.

Who was abused here?

Me or her?

Not that it matters.

Re: Spousal Abuse

Sounds like your wife was just trying to teach you the simple manners that your mother must have forgotten to pass on. About time I'd say.

I never understood the appeal of IHOP. There's one at the end of my block. You'd think they were giving out free mustangs to all paying customers the way the lines form at the front door. Don't get me wrong - average, consistent food is fine. None of the other restaurants seem to have the lines like IHOP. Must be the $0.15 pancakes...

Someday you are going to be one of those "senile" folks waiting in line for something. I agree with HA, your wife was justified in smacking you for your less than kind remark about the older folks there.

Re: Spousal Abuse

You guys know NOTHING about spousal abuse. I am the expert. Married 36 of my 61 years, I can recount it, chapter
and verse. I recall that we all tried to discourage my son
(38 at the time) from getting married. His best friend,
on
the way to the ceremony (with the bride present) said
"Don't do it!", as did I , as did his grandfather..............
to no avail. Remember, bigamy is one wife too many.
Marriage is the same.

Humm... did you smack your kids when they missbehaved?* I have a feeling that you acted like a child so she treated you like one.

That doesn't excuse smacking children of any age.*

You were out of order!

Re: Spousal Abuse

Some people need spousal abuse...

Why IHOP? Come on! How many other restaurants cause your feet to stick to the floor?

The only thing that bothers me is that i've never, ever seen one outside of the US, so I think that 'international' thing is a little overdone. I did see a 'Beekvelds' in denmark once that i think was a lot like Bickfords, but no IHOPs.

Very disturbing.

Shows how cultured you are... The restaurant has plenty of international cuisine. They serve Belgian Waffles and French Toast!!

Re: Spousal Abuse

This is what spousal abuse can do to you.*

Perverted flasher licks 20 girls' tongues

Gifu Prefectural Police have been investigating incidents since summer last year in which a man asked girls aged between 7 and 10 in the prefecture to stick out their tongues and licked them.

"I was on bad terms with my wife, and was frustrated," the suspect, 35-year-old Osamu Tsuji, was quoted as telling investigators.
