Startup in a Weekend

I am going to be participating in the upcoming event in Phoenix 17 Oct and also am loosely assisting in help spread the word. http://phoenix.startupweekend.com , if you’re out of town there’s a series across the nation http://startupweekend.com/

Startup Weekend is a jam session where a group of people get together and pitch a few ideas – that rise to the top and then teams move them to “startup mode” in 48 hours.

I’m looking forward to it since I’m going to peel off one of my ideas I know I won’t get to in the near term and see if the chemistry is right to make a run with it.

Since the right team formulation requires bright individuals beyond the “geek” coders I’m hoping people on the form find this post of interest.

Are there going to be investors there or just us nerds? There are plenty of good ideas. Heck, some ideas are just imports from overseas. Look at Zipcars.

Thanks Nords - no its a real deal. We have 25 people so far which should make for about 4 startups launched that weekend .

And we need Finance or Legal people.

Any start-up ideas that help people stretch their money might get a good response right now...
