My local newspaper only showed a handful of stocks, so back in the early 90's
(when I 1st started investing) before leaving for work, I'd set my VCR to record CNBC for one hour.

3:00 to 4:00 PM. The ticker would show all the closing prices in alphabetical order. LOL

I used to call into a newspaper quote system

I started subscribing to the WSJ in the early 1970s.

I still get it, although it's just on my iPad these days.
