Strat-o-Matic Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Anyone here play Strat-o-Matic? The game is a tabletop sports game available in cards-and-dice as well as a PC version. It was invented 50 years ago by Hal Richman.

Here are two links to coverage of the gala event in Manhattan on February 11th. The first is a print article, the second a link to a video.

50th Anniversary of Baseball's "Strat-O-Matic" - CBS News Video

I have been playing since 1973 although I took a break from it in the 1990s until a few years ago when being semi-retired (and now retired) gave me more time to resurrect this hobby.

I played as a kid. My brother and I had the 1970 season and replayed it. I had other sets from the 70s.

Loved it. Spend countless hours drafting teams from various years and playing tournaments with my siblings.

I was a huge "fanatic" as a kid...played countless hours with two friends of mine, plus even more solo. Now my 13 year old plays too, which is amazing. What a wonderful game.
