I met Roy about 10 years ago at Ft Sam Houston. Talk about a regular guy...he's gone now, but not forgotten.

Wow Reagan was right, if you made his actions into Hollywood script it would over the top. Seven gunshot wounds, 28 pieces of shrapnel, a broken jaw, and bayoneted in both armies, and lived.

A more famous hero due to Ambrose book, and the Hanks/Spielberg HBO special Band of Brothers, Dick Winters also passed away this month at the ripe old age of 92.

One of the most amazing things I have ever read. Can you imagine the doctor getting spit on by Benavidez while zipping up his body bag?
