Tax Prep Software

Are you able to do multiple tax returns on one Turbo Tax? I need to prepare 3 for family, and will need to purchase tax prep software (which I've never bought before). Thanks

I don't know about Turbotax, but you can with Taxcut. I do 3 family members taxes each year, using Taxcut.

I now do 2, but used to do 3 before daughter got married a few years back. I still do ours plus son's.

I use H&R's Tax Cut. It works great. I'm sure it's much the same as Turbo. Regardless, I do three each year...One for DW and I, one each for the two kids. It's just like any other application where you "save as" for each return and then start a new one. Pretty easy.

Thanks so much, all. I thought that had to be the case, but wanted to be sure before everyone in the family lined up with their "stuff"!

I've done a bunch with both the desktop and on-line turbotax. Lets you save each return to its own file. Only one e-file for free though.

You can only download one State tax, but you can use it for multiple returns.
