Technology on the March

Being a certified geek, I thought it would be nice to have a general title for advances in technology that we find interesting.

My contribution will be decreasing price of solid state drives (SSD) for computers. When I updated my MacBook earlier this year, SSD prices were high enough the upgrade did not make economic sense for me. Today, I noticed that some SSD's are now at or below the $1 per Gig price. That would have been very tempting had it happened 4 months ago.

The worst decisions are usually made in times of anger and impatience.

IBM's knowledge based systems and especially DeepQA - the sw used on Jeopardy. I imagine we will see many applications in the next couple of years and in most cases not even realize a computer is on the other end.
