Things NOT to buy your grandchildren for Christmas

Originally I was just going to post a rant about the worse-than-clueless book mentioned in this blog post: Barbie F*cks It Up Again. I saw this link this morning and truly thought it was a made up joke, until I checked this evening and TIME has picked up the story. The book is "Barbie: I can be a computer engineer" but all she can do is get guys to help her write programs and fix her computer. Gag me with a spoon.

Then I thought there might be other products out there just as useless / insulting / pick your adjective, so this thread can be a public service to all the grandparents/aunts/uncles/parents out here in ER-land.

Anyone spot something worth going out of our way to avoid?

Oh my gosh that just gets my blood boiling. Almost as bad as when an engineering professor told me that I was taking a seat away from a guy who needed it more just to get an MRS degree. (He honestly thought women shouldn't be allowed to get BSEEs)

Talk about clueless.
