This girl's story moves me to tears

Pixar grants girl’s dying wish with home viewing of 'Up' - OCRegister.com

I read her story in the newspaper. She was such a lovely and brave girl. I hope you will mourn her and pray for her as I did. My heart goes out to the Curtin family.

Several things are worth noting in this sad but UPlifting story.
Quote:
On June 4 her mother asked a hospice company to bring a wheelchair for Colby so she could visit a theater to see "Up." However, the weekend went by and the wheelchair was not delivered, Lisa Curtin said.
Lets see a local hospice company couldn't figure out how to get a wheelchair delivered over a weekend Gee isn't that their business? Yet somehow Pixar managed to drop everything to get an employee with a DVD and gift basket the next day.

Pixar officials declined to comment on the story or name the employees involved.
Many companies would have included this in their XYZ company gives back to the community on their website. Almost all companies if contacted would have said something along the lines of we were touched by Little Colby's tragic story and happy to help fullfill her wish. Not Pixar.

Actually, this almost seems to be par for the course for Pixar here is similar story from last years film Wall-E If corporations can go to heaven Pixar is well on their way.

Pixar does give off a nice vibe, word-of-mouth may be the best PR. Approx. the early '90s, SO worked alone and a neighbor nearby also worked alone and would bring extra coffee from Starbucks & stop in to chat. He was working on Pixar projects. Just knowing one employee, I have the impression they hire nice people and therefore....
