This Guy Cracks Me Up!

Mark Morford is a hoot, anyone else read the SFgate?

Rejoice, The Hummer Is Dead / It might be the end of the world's most phallically sad SUV. But has the damage been done?

What a columnist........Jerry Farwell and the Hummer truck compared??

Bloated, arrogant, offensive to millions and deeply wrong in a thousand ways and yet blindly worshipped by a shockingly large and happily uninformed throng of devout minions for no other reason than he was, well, bloated, arrogant and wrong.
Sounds about right to me

I happened upon him and follow his writing / rants. Awful left-leaning for me, but I appreciate his views and agree with a number of them.

The comments are really interesting to read. Sounds like he really hit a few nerves in SF.

Mark Morford is interesting, even if I don't always agree with him. I liked this week's column with his "fan mail" Click here

I grew up in and still live in SF. I would classify myself as significantly to the left of most people even in San Francisco. I constantly find myself wanting to write to the Chronicle to ask them to nudge the Mark Morford record because it's skipping and playing the same thing over and over and over and over again. He's about as incoherent as the 12 galaxies Guy

A few years back, my cousin was telling me that her husband worked for a company that supplies assemblies for Hummers. She said they had one on loan for a weekend, and 'You should see all the looks you get, driving THAT around!' With a big smile on her face.

She probably thought they were adoring looks. But they were probably thinking, 'what the heck are doing driving around with a few extra tons of metal around you that took a gawd-awful amount of energy to mine and fabricate and now you are burning up more gas than any three cars ought to? Don't you have any respect for the environment?'.

I decided not to burst her bubble. I just nodded. It was a rare moment for me.

True story: When the Hummer H2 first came out, I was out with some friends and we parked next to one. My friend's DW (known to never make a critical comment EVER) cooly states: "Well, I guess we know what HE'S compensating for"..........
