I'm very happy I let my membership lapse. But they're still trying to get me to rejoin. They must spend an absolute fortune on postage.

Just wait and see what they start sending you once you don't re-up your subscription. I'm outta there 15 years, DW and I receive info from them each week to re-join. Their discounts are a joke, you can use your old Boy Scout card and do better.

Here is a secret about AARP: anyone can join, regardless of age. I signed up last year at 38 y/o so I could get their credit card. It was giving 5% rebates on all spending, which I then used to earn myself thousands of dollars. However, once I got their junk mail and actually read some of it, it became obvious to me that it is just another socialist-leaning lobbying group, promoting the "entitled victim" mentality that I don't agree with. There are actually 2 separate AARPs: the marketing group with all the discounts, and the lobbying group.
