We just drove south for the winter – from Chicagoland to South Florida. A couple of observations about the trip

Lots more trucks on the road. This may be a christmas thing, maybe not.

Many more RVs – and a couple of really big and fancy ones. One was the size of an 18 wheeler.

Just a couple of those big auto transports. Two years ago we saw 20+ on a trip. Early ’09 we saw none, this time we saw 3.

Most folks on the road are still good drivers.

No fantastic deals on hotels. They seem to be doing ok. Not great, not broke.

Ahhhh...South Florida. It’s good to be back. Sunshine, palm trees, sandy beaches - and spanish everywhere, bad drivers and inappropriate clothing.

I have never been to Florida... I'm interested in the inappropriate clothing too. Spending one night at the Marriott, South Beach in February. It'll be on a Saturday, so I figure just people watching might be all the entertainment I need while in Miami.
