I have not been able to confirm what version the HDMI ports are (2.0 or 1.4), but I found one reference suggesting they're 2.0.
We have a 2007 37" Sharp 720 LCD which resides in a cabinet that does not have much storage capability. The screen is starting to degrade, and DW is wanting a larger cabinet to get all the magazines and book clutter off our coffee table, so I might be shopping for a new set soon, possibly waiting for super bowl timeframe as prices are usually favorable. I would like a larger set to go with a new storage unit, perhaps something in the 46 to 55" range. Let us know what you think of the 4K set when you get it. Are you planning to use the built in sound or will you go with a receiver and external speakers? I would really like a set that has decent built in sound. I also need to checkout AVS forum, but I know your review would be a reliable input.

I've read a lot online lately, including AVS forum, a great resource. Our low end 4K is slated to deliver on Mon, so I'll make a point of watching MNF since my biggest reservation is refresh rate. But our two older LCD's have 60Hz refresh rates (with no refresh rate software enhancement like many current models now have), and DW and I don't see 'motion blur' as an issue - maybe our (old) eyes aren't good enough to appreciate the difference anymore.

4K resolution doesn't have much value yet, as access to true 4K content is very limited for now. From what I read upscaling makes little to no perceptible difference unless you sit unnaturally close to the screen, then maybe.

I'm told, and it makes sense to me, that all else equal, a bigger screen does more to improve the viewing experience than resolution, refresh rate, contrast, brightness, saturation and all the other "specs."

Best of luck, and prices are up again after the Black Friday/Cyber Monday promos, so I'd wait. Maybe after Christmas will provide deeper discounts again, if not earlier. The TV we bought is now discounted (only) $100, vs $500 thru Cyber Monday just past, worth waiting IMO.

Congrats!

We enjoy our UHD so much that we think we already got our money's worth. BTW, 3D was big part of my reason to upgrade my TV. Some 3Ds are theater quality (things pop out of the TV) - Avatar, Star Trek Into the Darkness. I don't know if you got one with 3D feature or not. If you did, have fun with it.
