I got my toothbrush about 2 weeks ago- according to the invoice, i'm customer #576. Nothing like living on the edge eh?
So, after 2 weeks of use (except for one day when I grabbed the sonicare by mistake), here's the review-
Day One
The first time I used it, it was weird. Actually, I didn't really like it at all. If you look at their website, check out the brushheads- they have a large rubber ultrasound transducer built into the head of the brush, and it makes for a weird brushing experience. Once I turned it on, things got even weirder.... it made a quiet version of the sonicare hum, and didn't 'splash' around as much in my mouth, so I wasn't sure if it was really working. Also, due to the transducer, I had to brush a little differently. It's also worth mentioning that whenever I ran the brush over a few of my front teeth, it hurt somewhat. I eventually figured out which teeth were causing me pain, and determined that they're the ones that hold my upper and lower lingual bars (perm retainer) in place. Interesting.
Today
I like this toothbrush a lot. I didn't think it was possible, but it seems to do a better job cleaning my teeth- they feel smoother when i'm done, and seem to stay cleaner longer. The pain is still there for some of my teeth, but I think they're becoming desensitized. I'm also more or less used to the size/shape of the brush head now, so it doesn't really bother me anymore.
So there you have it- the first review on the net for the Ultreo.
<- nice and clean!
