I was goofing around with the years of returns that Vanguard offers a rate of return percentage on. Then I noticed you could change it to only include whatever holdings through them you have.
This includes money market/settlement funds. I never have anything in the settlement funds. So I kept them out of the tally, and suddenly my overall rate of return jumped up a full percent.
So, if you don't use those accounts and maybe want a nice little ego boost, it may be worth customizing the holdings accounted for.
