Verizon Sharing Customer data

Verizon Wireless: Information Sharing Plan

Verizon is sending out letters that gives customers 45 days upon receipt to opt out of the information sharing plan. The plan would share all of your carrier related data (billing information, technical data, location and service purchases) with Verizon's affiliates and agents. Essentially turning your account information into an open book for who knows who to see.
Article gives instructions on how to turn this off if you don't/didn't get the mail piece.

"In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is." ~(perhaps by) Yogi Berra
"Those who have knowledge, don't predict. Those who predict, don't have knowledge."~ Lau tzu

That's BS, I'm on Verizon........

It is just another way for Verizon to raise money and for a bunch of greedy vendors to get around the national "no-call" list.........

Consult with your own advisor or representative. My thoughts should not be construed as investment advice. Past performance is no guarantee of future results (love that one).......:)

This Thread is USELESS without pics.........:)

Yup. Despite the "no-call list," we're getting just about as many junk calls as ever. At least we have caller ID now.
"Hey, for every ten dollars, that's another hour that I have to be in the work place. That's an hour of my life. And my life is a very finite thing. I have only 'x' number of hours left before I'm dead. So how do I want to use these hours of my life? Do I want to use them just spending it on more crap and more stuff, or do I want to start getting a handle on it and using my life more intelligently?" -- Joe Dominguez (1938 - 1997)

There was an article locally about charter selling their customers phone numbers (including unlisted). Those numbers are now published in the regional phone directory for all to call.

Greedy is right.
