For me, color film brings these people to life. Black and whites seem like something ancient you would see in a history book, but color makes them seem more just like us. Reminds me of the lyrics from a song, in which a young man is looking at old black and white photos from Grandpa's photo album:

Edit to add: It's a good song, might as well include the video. When I listen to this song, I can't help but compare the people from the generation of the Great Depression and WWII to the pack of whiny, opportunistic, cowardly brats that seem to be running around in adult bodies all over the country these days.



Man, if that last paragraph doesn't get me a Curmudgeon Certificate, I don't know what will.

Ron - Thanks for posting the vid - amazing!

Leo - After reading "The Greatest Generation" and other history books, seeing videos such as linked in the OP, listening to songs like "in Color", and listening to veterans and people from the greatest generation, I know what you mean by your last paragraph.
