We should all be sick and tired of this stuff...

Another [DELETED BY MODERATOR] who finished building a house and got 4hitfaced drunk in north carolina and drives drunk on a narrow two lane road!
This is one situation that I do hate since moving to NC.
Maybe I will get involved in NC politics when I finish my work up here in NJ.

The fact that the drunk lives is what I was referring to.
Most of the mexicans there are well illegal, read the article he was at one time caught driving without a license, I bet he has a green card?? Maybe?
All I know is he should NEVER GET OUT OF JAIL!

Texas has a significant number of "illegals" on Death Row. Not all are Mexican. Overall, Latin America has not been sending us their "best and brightest." If I was living down there, I'd probably be up here by now. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be controlling the flood of immigrants. Having "amnesty" every decade or so isn't control.
We recently had a police officer killed in Houston by a returned deportee with a Texas criminal record (other than for immigration violation). The uber-liberal mayor made a strong speech but the continuation of Houston as a "sanctuary city" remains unless an illegal has a prior criminal offense.
This may belong off with the other "Political Ranting" thread. I'm always curious how or why someone justifies our total lack of control of immigration. Historically, immigration control existed back in the pre-revolutionary period and has existed all during the history of the US. This is the first time that a collapse has occurred or would have been tolerated.
Even good ol' liberal, hate the US Canada maintains strong immigration control.

So you are in favor of the death penalty for drunk drivers, only if they are Mexicans?

Well, I like a lot of things about Canada and Canadians. And their immigration policy is one of the things I like.
A few buddies were joking (well maybe not joking, maybe threatening) to leave the USA and head "up nort" after the last election. So I went and did some reading on Canadian immigration procedures and requirements. There was also a lot of discussion on threads on this board. Their policies make sense.
BTW, none of the guys actually went.

If an american wants to move to canada or say new zealand and stay there and work it is quite difficult. In new zealand if you are over 50 they do not want you.

Sure I come up with some crazy things here, however I make no judgements and quite frankly Nords has put me on notice.
I am harmless, just cannot wait to be ERd in less than 2 months! :

Thank you. I am of Mexican heritage (via Juarez - just a stroll over the Rio Grande )and found the post to be a little off putting. I think newguy meant no harm and used a poor choice of words in describing this unfortunate accident.

That's so true. They breed like rats and I should know. My great grandmother snuck into this country (via Ellis Island) and promptly had 13 kids.
