I gave my notice in September that I was going to retire on March 29,2019. Company was hammering reps who were below quota and letting them go or making them miserable. Medical sales to specialists. Tough group, some of the smartest people on the planet.

Then two weeks ago I was pressured to ........ leave....retire early....like right now and be done. I said no. Another conference call with the same.....bullying and I stood my ground and told them I know the law and bullying and harassment of a 63 year old stellar rep with a few months to go would not fair well for them and I would take action.

Friday I was given a wonderful package. They had called my physician base and were given exemplary comments on me. They said some of the comments were unlike they had ever heard before. One physician said they had actually included me in their will! Not sure what that is about?

So I am done. I am so excited to walk into the next stage of my life. My daughter is ecstatic.....she said, “ Now you can be a Full Time Paw Paw!” Oh man, that’s a tough job!

Excellent news. Congrats.

Congratulations!!

You're ready and you're not "done" -
you're transitioning to the lovely job of
"Full Time Paw Paw!"

Thanks Detail.

So glad to be done with meetings, traveling, getting up early in the cold, dealing with traffic, nonsense...... should I go on? Lol

Went to Miami this weekend. Passed Ft. Myers. Get yourself down there, unless you don't want 75 degrees. lol

Lol, I have a snowbird taking my place from Jan-April 15th......oh, had I known....paid the full amount cash up front in November. Their 3rd year, covers 90% of my total annual expenses...but we can go and stay with my sister or mom.

Welcome to retirement, sudden though it was.

C'mon down...the weather's great and NO SNOW!

(And hopefully you can attend the next annual SW FL E-R.org meetup in early March, date TBD, and meet some fellow early retirees who can give you tips on adjusting to retirement!)

Good on you for holding your ground.... that got you a package instead of you just walking out the door...

Back in the early 60s my dad was the #1 salesman for Nestle's.... but the boss in the US did not want anybody to pension and fired everybody just before 10 years... same with my dad... however, someone at the company messed up and had input the dates wrong... they tried to blame my dad and refuse to give him his pension... he took them to court... had all of his awards, all of his great reviews etc. etc... my mom said that the boss got mad at the judge for taking so long as he expected to be in and out quickly... well, my mom is alive at 99 and still getting a pension from the... not much, but better than nothing..

Always stick to your guns when you know you are in the right... and be willing to 'take action' if needed...

God bless your DAD!!!! Stood his ground way back then when there was really zero protection! What a guy with guts!

Congrats! That is indeed great news. I'm not sure what is in it for them other than getting to move on to the future of your territory earlier than planned... but I guess that is their problem. Big companies often act stupid.

Great news for you, congratulations for standing up for yourself. Enjoy 2019 and beyond as a retiree.

Great way to stand up for all those years of stellar results!! Congrats for
taking the bull by the horns and getting what you deserve.

Best to you,

VW

Very happy for you floridatennisplayer! I hope you enjoy every moment of your soon to be retired life. So good you held your ground and got a good package. Looking forward to hearing about your retired life experiences.

Wonderful! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Well played, sir, well played.

My thoughts exactly. Welcome to retirement. I predict you’re going to love it.

Congratulations. Always gratifying to hear that you are appreciated by those you did business with. Looks like a great pool to relax beside. Merry Christmas and have a great New Year!!

Good job. Sounds like you have great rapport with your clients. Your ride along manager knows your rep. Do you get to make one last call on them? That would be pretty special

Good for you for sticking to your guns. You may have helped yourself and the next guy they try to screw.

Congratulations! Sounds like you really made this work out for the best for you - well done! Enjoy your well-deserved retirement!

Anyone wondering about how much notice to give since they want to be "fair" to their bosses, repeat after me, I'm just a body to them and they don't really care about treating me fairly.

You are better off without them ….glad their behavior came back and bit them in the A@@....
