Re: What Are You Drinking Right Now?
Ooh, I used to love Peets coffee. Used to load up on Kenya AA and Ethiopian Harrar there -- the stronger and more bitter the better. Haven't had any in 15 years.

I wouldn't say beer goes bad as it ages, but you definately see the flavor go downhill over time. Depends on the beer though. Weizen is best as soon as it is done fermenting. Barleywine is often better after a year of storage.

Re: What Are You Drinking Right Now?
Free coffee at work.
Back to the homebrew comments.......beer will keep a while if kept cool and in the dark. I have had some bottles of howbrew that still tasted great after 4 years in the basement. Granted these were very hoppy to start with so I know that played a big part in their stability. Sunlight will skunk a beer really fast. I guess that is why Corona is in clear glass. It is hard to skunk a skunk.
I don't have the time to do homebrew right now but I plan on getting back into it after ER. I am an all grain kind of brewer and even raise my own yeasts strains. Sort of a yeast farmer. My soda kegs are just dying to be filled again with fresh beer and my draft system needs a work out. Maybe I can make a few test batches this summer.

Re: What Are You Drinking Right Now?
--Old Crow & Diet Coke. Switched to diet coke when I retired because I was worried about gaining weight . Used to drink Jim Beam, but bought some Old Crow on a lark because it was so cheap. Couldn't tell any difference because both are 'straight bourbons'(51% corn mash), and because I use a lot of ice and diet coke with each drink. Haven't had any fillings done since I switched to diet coke, but not for sure if it's because I'm not drinking any sugar anymore, or if it's because most of my bad teeth are now capped.

I'm assuming we mean now-adays? Glenlivet when I feel rich, Smoking Loon Cabernet when feeling poor ($5.99 a bottle!).

Re: What Are You Drinking Right Now?
Over the years my wife and I have had probably 50 cases of a French wine "L'Authentique" from Trader Joe's.* It hurt when it went from 3.49 to 3.99 a bottle last year.*

Re: What Are You Drinking Right Now?
I've given up my chardonnay habit. I found that wine gives me tachycardia in the middle of night when getting up to use the restroom. Now it's xanax. Less calories, same effect j/k (lol)
