Always classical music, cranked right up in nice weather, medium volume in cold weather.
If the classical station starts playing something wierd , then the tuner is sent right over to either classic rock or jazz.
I will take a collection of CDs of female singers (Aretha, Bonnie Raitt, Barbra Streisand, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Pointer Sisters, Sade, KD Lang) along for longer trips.

I often record things from the Internet (e.g. This American Life, Marian McPartland, etc.) on to CD, and listen in the car. Sometimes I just get too bored listening to music. If it's music, it could be Scott Hamilton, Tommy Flanagan, or Hank Jones.

My 13-year old minivan has one of those new-fangled high-tech cassette players, but I don't play it much--too much trouble to fish out a tape and shove it in. Usually listen to a radio station out of Bloomington, Indiana. Coming home today they played a song about the Colts going to the Super Bowl, set to the melody of "American Pie"--it was pretty cool.

Usually country radio (Hey, I'm in West Virginia!). My truck also has one of those tape players and a CD player too!

My brand new Toyota Venza has the upgraded JBL radio/CD_changer/sat_radio/surround_sound system or whatever. I must admit that it sounds pretty doggone good. Actually better than that.
So far I have just been listening to whatever is on my favorite radio stations and have been entering them into the quick tune buttons. Most of the stations are temporarily devoting most of their air time to the Saints and Superbowl discussion.

Mainly classical radio. I find it more relaxing and takes away any urge for an episode of road rage.

Car?
Three quarters of the people I see in one of those vehicles is listening to a cell phone so they don't hear me mutter, "get a horse!"

I occasionally listen to one local radio station for traffic info. But they play way too much Lady Gaga for me to listen full time. So I usually plug in my iPhone into the car's sound system and listen to a custom play list which currently includes a rather eclectic mixture of pop, rock, alternative, foreign and classical music.

"Get a horse!" - good one! I'll try to remember that instead of the foul language that I am usually inspired to when one of those distracted drivers causes me to take evasive action.

This past week, John Mayer or BB King or Eric Clapton. I have about 4 books of CD's in the car to listen to, and if that gets tiring I turn on either country or classical. Anything that is soothing in traffic.

The exhaust. None of my 3 toy cars has a radio.
A couple of years ago DD took my car home (about 500 miles) while I did a week's repair job on hers (I work slow). Then I delivered it and took mine home. When she left in mine she offered to show me how the fancy stereo in hers worked. I asked her to show me how to turn it off.

REDNECK - as in Roadhouse and the Bluegrass channels, 50's/60's rock and roll, and The Bridge 70's Folk Rock.
Also have 6 CD's of Doo Wop and oldies but goodies.
heh heh heh - have yet to put some of my old time gospel and blues guitar tapes in my car carry case. But I will get there.

I guess I'm on the cutting edge of technology here with an iPod hookup for my radio. Had it on today while running errands and listed to some new downloads:
Eighty Steps Away - The Good Listeners
Sweet Sixteen - BB King
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
No Te Pido Flores - Fanny Lu
My Funny Valentine - Ella Fitzgerald
Life is Beautiful - Keb' Mo'
Walking the Floor Over You - Ernest Tubb
I'm nothing if not eclectic in my musical taste.
