What do you like on the tube?

Retirement does allow for leisure time and some is probably spent watching TV.
Regular TV, Direct TV, Cable, DVD rentals

So what do you watch, what are some of your favorite movies, sit coms, news and information stations, HBO series

Fox News, the Sopranos, re runs of Steinfeld. History channel, Saving Private Ryan, American Idol or maybe soaps.

Just wondering

Re: What do you like on the tube?

Sopranos for me. One of my kids puts about 2 or 3 weeks on TIVO, and we gather round for an Italian orgy on Hi-Def 60" plasma. I just wish Adriana would get resurrected from the dead.

I also like to watch how Tony operates withing the constraints of his position. Right now, though, I am worried about Vito. (I missed last episode, so this may already be resolved) He is spending a R&R little time at a B&B in New Hampshire, checking out the antique shops, and meanwhile plans may be being made to hasten his exit from this world.

Ha

Vito was not in last episode at all. Show took a while different direction with Artie Buco and Benny being the main focus.
I believe Vito may be back in the limelight next week.

The only "tubes" we've got in the house are computer monitors, so various internet fora and email tend to provide my the majority of my viewing pleasure.

cheers,

Re: What do you like on the tube?

Hi,

Two fav's are 24 and beleive it or not...

MY NAME IS EARL. It is the funniest show on TV IMHO. The premise is that after hitting the lottery for $100k he gets hit by a car and losses the ticket due to bad Karma. He comes to this revelation while in he hospital and see Carson Daly of MTV discussing it....

It is mindless humor but you really should give it a shot.

We're not retired but we like:

Lost, My Name is Earl, Amazing Race, Desparate Housewives, Big Love, Alias (although the last couple of seasons have sucked and this one is worse - but it's the last seaon so we're watching anyway), Myth Busters, and house buying/selling shows.

I also watch Survivor, Apprentice, and American Idol. I'm a reality tv junkie.

Re: What do you like on the tube?

I like Soprano's and Big Love.

Otherwise, I only watch HGTV type shows (out of the corner of my eye while reading), like Househunters, Sell this House, Designed to Sell, reDesign, Devine Design, Mission Organization, Clean Sweep, etc. Weird addiction I developed about a year ago.

Drives Greg nuts. He hates those shows.

Once, just once, I want the buyers to turn to the RE agent at the end of the show and say "Never mind. They're all just too damned expensive."

Re: What do you like on the tube?

I have been watching the first 2 seasons of Sopranos and Battlestar Gallactica on DVD. I wonder if the popularity of the Sopranos and the desire for small businesses here has any connection.

I probably would like 24 and lost more on dvd otherwise they drive me crazy....
