For one person, gasoline was about $700 in 2016 and $850 in 2017 while still working. The $150 difference is that I drove to see family at Christmas in 2017 and flew in 2016. My other vacations were by plane. My car uses premium gasoline.
Now I'm retired and am taking several road trips my first year of retirement. Gasoline costs are $300 for 1Q 2018. I would be spending more but outside my road trips I am staying home a lot as am focusing on decluttering my home and a diet/exercise regimen.

$1200 per year for me- work commute included. DH's gas expenditures depend on work. Last year about $3600

According to Quicken, $1685 for us last year with 2 cars. Since 2006 it has ranged from a high of $4,306 (2012, high gas prices, 3 cars, and teenagers still at home) to a low of $1585 (2016, my first full year of working from home).
First quarter this year we spent $387, so we are likely going to end up in the 1550-1650 range. It will be interesting to see what happens after I retire in June.

Nothing. I ride a bicycle
Maybe $30/year in bike repairs and around $120/year on bus fares. I use my feet and bicycle for almost everything. Sorry to be so unhelpful!

2017 2359.26
2016 2004.62
2015 2170.33
2014 3199.17
2013 3427.81
2012 3364.67
The variation is entirely due to gasoline costs, as we both commuted the same distance in the same two cars during each of those 6 years, driving a combined 34-35,000 miles per year.

That is interesting and sounds like no car at all. I walk and bike to places when I'm in town but not all the time. A lot of money could be saved with out owning a vehicle.

I can't track gas specifically, as 90% of it is with discounted gas cards from publix - yay me.
About every other week, Publix runs a deal for $10 off on a $50 gas card with your grocery purchase. So, a few times I've missed the deal or needed more gas (trip, approaching hurricane), but pretty much always with these. If you're in publix-territory, check the weekly flyers (should be one this week coming up).
That said, we must be under $1k a year. I do most of the driving and those gas cards usually last me a month.

When gas was $4.00/gal, and I drove a pickup, fill-ups were around $80. With today’s gas prices, and a Prius, a tank o’ gas is more like $20.

3 cars that use Premium Unleaded. $3,300 in 2017. $275/month.
Could do better, but gasoline is pretty low on our expense list.

Including all gasoline and diesel fuel for cars, motorcycles, mowers and tractor the average expenditure over the last five years was $2,123.75.
That includes vacation travel in personal and rented cars.

About $2500 a year for my car, mostly on a long-distance commute to work. My wife spends another $800 or so.

So I run close to 2000 bucks a year in gas for my outfits. What do you figure you spend in fuel per year?
Thanks

Way to go Tom. I have been working on getting people to bike/walk more so I know you are unique. Not so hard once it becomes part of your lifestyle. My effort has been trying to help people understand that getting places is not so difficult using Active Transportation tools. And, the benefits are terrific for health, personal savings, environment and safety. Keep on, keeping on! People like you are my heros.

Among our 3 cars we average about 12,000 miles/year at 25mpg. Let's say that's 500 gallons at $3/gallon so $1500/year. YMMV

About $850, at our Florida home we can get to most places by golf cart, the gym is 1/2 mile away and 4 grocery stores are within 2 miles.
