You just needs to hit a home run once, eh? Many of my relatives are small business folks. Majority of their business either fail or they manage to eek out a living. Once in a while, one will hit a mother lode and rake in money like there is no tomorrow. But it doesn't often last (competition comes in, business go out of fashion) and they go on to another business which fails. I wish they'd quit while having enough money to RE but that's kind of rare. Congrats on your extreme ER.
