I thought I was the only one crazy enough to pay $500 for one of these.

I got a lot of use out of it and it still works, but new maps are as much as a new, faster touch screen with spoken street names, GPS

Actually the rich folk who own the horse barn where my wife worked bought it for $500. Even bought the external antenna and overpaid for an SD card with the Garmin name on it. Every Xmas they have a "sale" where they let "the help" buy toys they are tired of for pennies on the dollar - believe my wife picked it up for $100 and a Montblanc pen for $10. These became my Xmas presents that year.

Apparently the Garmin took them the wrong way once so they had to get rid of it.

Yeah, I am still using the original maps. Makes no sense to spend $75 on updated maps when you can buy a new GPS for the same $.

To add to this list...

Sheepskin slippers from Sundance Leather in Guffey, Colorado - great quality.

If you trace your foot and mail in the tracing, they will help size the slippers correctly.

I have one of their hats. Warmest thing ever.

Kindest regards.

The Original Foodsaver vacuum sealers. I'd prefer the old reliable than any of the ones out today.
Newer is not always better.

Do you frequent Audiokarma.org or Audioaficionado.org?

Any Marantz Receiver is a good purchase, I have the 7005 and a few friends bought the newer models and none of us would replace them.

Depends on how fast you drive, and how quickly you can make it into the house, perhaps?

Good point, just about anything from L.L. Bean, especially boots and flannel shirts.

Another vote for LLBean. They clearly value function over fashion, but they not only sell high quality goods, their lifetime guarantee is real. The store in Freeport is amazing.
