I work in a College of Business at a major university. All of our young men wear black suits to the career fairs and interviews. Never blue, even though they all bleed blue and white here. It seems to work. Placement is 95% within 3 months of graduation. 3% go to higher education. The other 2% probably wore blue or gray suits.

Re: Where to get a slim fitting suit for ~$500?

Well, after doing some shopping at Macy's, Dillard's, Brooks Brothers, and the Men's Wearhouse, it's become apparent that I need a 38 Long jacket...and even that needs to be taken in a little around the waist. The problem is that neither Macy's nor Dillard's nor Brooks Brothers had ANY suits in this size, and the Men's Wearhouse only had two to choose from, neither of which I was crazy about. It seems most of them only start making long jackets at size 40, which is way too big in the shoulders for me, looks ridiculous. For the record, I'm 6'1 and 140 lbs, so I really need a 38 Long with a 6 inch drop (32 waist). Looking for basic black or dark charcoal, single breasted, two button, no pinstripe.

So where else can I look to find a jacket in this size? I'm in Texas...are there any other chain stores that have a large selection of men's suit sizes?
