Yep.
Imagine all those guys loaded like that and then doing an hour of low-level bumpy, hot, up and down, aggressive bank angle flying to get into a tricky DZ. It's like shaking up a bee in a beer can--when they get on the ground, somebody is gonna feel some wrath.
The C-17 is a great airplane and a great ride--much more comfortable (quiet, better light, better seats) than the C-141 was. And extremely reliable. It was a troubled program that ended up doing very well. We need more.
Has anyone ever understood a single word said over the PA system in a USAF cargo aircraft?
Great picture-thanks.
